I doubted I was going to make it to Web Directions North this year, but as I just wrote, things have changed for me in the past few months. My new employer has been generous enough to send me to the conference and I couldn’t be happier to be returning for a second year.
I’m looking forward to seeing Jefferey Zeldman’s opening keynote Wednesday morning and some familiar faces from last year. I imagine there will be lots of discussion around the two big announcements this month. The version targeting planned for IE8 has spawned a heated debate and has divided some. Also, the release of the HTML5 public working draft and the differences from HTML4 has generated some discussion. It will be interesting to hear first-hand what people think about these issues.
If you’re attending the conference, see you in 36 hours.
