I really love Wordpress and to a lot of sites with WP but the missing content elements are sometimes a show stopper. Hiroaki's <a href="http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/custom-field-template/" rel="nofollow">Custom Field Template</a> is a big step in the right direction, maybe it helps you checking that out.
