We drove 9 hours on Friday and got in to a Delta in Rhode Island at about 12:30 EST and went directly to bed. Saturday morning we were greeted with torrential rain courtesy of Hurricane Ivan and when we got to the field the city of Portsmouth, RI had not closed the fields so we started to play Ultimate frisbee in a hurricane/tropical storm. Crazy! We won our first game. During the fourth point of our second game the horn has blown and we are just about to get an upwind point when some guy comes running through the fields telling us to stop playing and denying us the point. Jackass! So we end up down 2-1 to Chinstrap on Friday. The TD informs us that we will play Sunday and have to come back next weekend to finish. Yea right!

Saturday night we eat at Applebee’s, Leachman and Ginny both get food poisoning. Ginny is still sick Sunday morning. We continue our game versus Chinstrap. Heather sprains her angle and is finished for the day. We lose to Chinstrap (13-7), then to FOW (13-8). We win our next game versus RIOT (13-5) then lose our last game versus WMD (13-9) after battling back from a score of 12-3.

We drove another 9 hours back home with a record of 2 wins and 3 losses. To top it all off, I was unfortunate enough wake up with some kind of bug Sunday morning and haven’t been able to shake it yet. Fortunately, we all had some fun together Saturday night and during travelling despite the shitty circumstances.
