I’ve had an ultimate tournament each of the past two weekends. Two weeks ago it was Flowerbowl here in Vancouver and last weekend it was Solstice in Eugene, Oregon.
Blackfish (check out the website I put together for us) did extremely well in Flowerbowl, going undefeated for the tournament. Not bad for our first tourny! Then for Solstice we won our first 3 games and lost the 4th, but we were still in contention for the championship game on Sunday. We won our first game on Sunday but then lost by only one point in our second game putting us out of it. Great fun though! Check out the photos from Flowerbowl and Solstice.
This coming weekend I’m heading down to Redmond, Washington for Potlatch with a co-ed team made up of Rough Rider, Blackfish, and Grind players. Should be great Canada Day weekend in the US, just read what the tournament organizers have to say:
The party is going to be awesome. We’ve ordered over 1,000 pounds of fresh salmon (and garden burgers for vegetarians) to barbeque up for you and more beer than y’all can drink (yes, that’s a challenge).

All the fields were on one huge plot of land and all the teams had tents setup around the plot. Although the salmon and free beer party was kind of lame (loading dock of a brewery, dance party inside, couldn’t bring in drinks, ended at 12:00, blah!), we had a great time at the fields afterward, visiting everyone’s campsites and partying until the wee hours of the morning.
