I was wondering about the same thing. Like Dan I've been with Rogers for about 10 years, and last September I upgraded to the HTC Touch and I had to fight like hell to get the new customer pricing. I still have 1 year and 1 month left on my 2 year contract but wow, full price for the iphone(how much is that anyways?) and a 3 year contract if you want to upgrade?? What's the point then? I would have thought that Rogers would let you upgrade for the new customer price and lock you into a 3 year contract just to keep you around. Obviously they think that since you've been with them for a while you're not going to go anywhere else. If anything those customers who have shown loyalty to Rogers and have been with them for a long time should get a better deal then a new customer to help promote the product. With the second highest rates in the world for the iPhone and not wanting to help existing customers Rogers obviously has no regard for existing or new customers. They're just out to make as much money as they can on a cool gadget. Too bad. Can't wait until the US carriers start offering service in Canada. I know I'll be making a switch.

I had a bit of a chat with a rogers rep as well and they are pretty much telling me the same thing...
firstly, they'll whack you with a penalty for early cancellation of either 2 or 4 hundred dollars (already myself being in a 2yr plan) secondly they'll hit you full pop on a new phone and get you into yet another 3 year contract...
i've been with them 10 years and just upgraded my hardware 6 mos ago but figured w/a new contract maybe they'd hook me up but NO...
i wanna cancel completely but there are just so little in the way of options

Thank you! The information on this page is more useful then talking to a Rogers rep for the past half an hour. The poor lady on the phone really didn't know how to response to all my questions since I'm an existing customer.
